명령, 복종… 악랄한 관계가 빚어내는 처참함! 다리가 불편한 시골 출신 헤르모헤네스는 글을 읽을 줄도 쓸 줄도 모르는 문맹으로, 대도시에서 힘겹게 살아간다. 정육점에서 허드렛일을 하면서 어렵게 생계를 유지하는 그에게 사장은 망해가는 정육점 매니저 자리를 제안하고 그 이후 정육점은 헤르모헤네스의 부지런함과 성실함 덕분에 점차 안정적으로 자리를 잡아간다. 하지만 악독한 사장은 매출을 더 높이기 위해 도덕적이지 못한 악랄한 일까지 요구하고, 그로 인해 헤르모헤네스는 점차 변하게 되는데… 과연 그는 끔찍한 노예 사슬을 잘라내고 희망을 찾아갈 수 있을까?

They discover that the town has no sheriff, and soon take over that position, much against the will of the mostly white townsfolk. They raise hell, chase women, and milk the locals for cash, while waiting for the opportunity to get their man.
